And then a client delivered a giant box of Ghirardelli chocolates to wish us a happy new year.

(But for once the tastiest one, with the dark chocolate and raspberry filling, and the elegantly-airbrushed pink top was still there, so I had to jump at the chance.  And then I had to grab a couple more.  Um… because.)

Of course, this was also originally going to be a size-affirming entry about how good it feels to wear clothes that actually fit, instead of forcing myself into too-tight suits and shirts with straining buttons.

And then I put on my new boots and discovered I couldn’t zip them all the way up over my plumper-than-usual calves.

(But, although my trousers do go on, they’re not exactly the right length, so I couldn’t wear ankle-boots, and it’s too cold for regular pumps.  Which, when combined with a bra that’s a bit too small - I swear I grabbed a 38, but somehow it became a 36 - means the clothes-fitting entry was probably a bad decision to begin with.)

HOWEVER, I did start the year with a nice long walk (4 miles, or 8393 steps), and although I haven’t been able to scrape together the time to do it again, I have confirmed it’s possible.  ALSO, I’ve been reading up on food choices, and bad carbs vs. good carbs vs. axis of evil carbs, so I feel particularly good about the dozen fresh-from-my-friend’s-coop eggs that are sitting on my desk, ready to be taken home and transformed into protein-rich breakfasts for the next week.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll even add a couple to another salad and let you know all about it.

Sometimes we just have to shake our heads and laugh… I’ve been enjoying your blog. :) Good luck to you and your efforts.

    So glad you’re back.

It’s never easy, but it’s totally worth the payback.

Something to say?
